Compensation and Benefits

ABS believes employees are the most important investment for success, and ABS's comprehensive compensation and benefits program reflects that belief. The program's purpose is to attract, retain and reward the people responsible for our company's success.

This is only a summary of the benefits we offer to our Employees. When someone joins the ABS Team, they receive detailed information about eligibility, enrollment and other important information.

Compensation

Medical

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (Two options are provided)
  • Prescription drug coverage
  • ABS pays 100% of the cost of employee coverage on the High Deductible Plan and 98% of the cost of employee coverage on the traditional PPO plan.
  • Dependent coverage is available through payroll deduction
  • The first of the month following 60 days of employment


Dental

  • Provided by Guardian Insurance
  • Features valuable preventive care along with basic and major care coverage
  • ABS pays the cost of employee coverage
  • Dependent coverage is available through payroll deduction
  • The first of the month following 60 days of employment


Vision

  • Provided by Guardian Insurance
  • Features valuable preventive care along with basic and major care coverage
  • Coverage is available through payroll deduction

Spending Accounts

  • HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT - A Health Savings Account (HSA) is an account that you can put aside pre-tax dollars to save for future medical expenses in conjunction with a Qualified High Deductible Health Insurance Plan.
  • First of the month after 60 days of employment

 

  • Health Care Spending Account - Lets you set aside a certain amount of your paycheck into an account before paying income taxes. Then, during the year you can be directly reimbursed from your account for qualified healthcare expenses.
  • After one year of employment

 

  • Child/Elder Care Spending Account - Lets you set aside a certain amount of your paycheck into an account before paying income taxes. Then, during the year you can be directly reimbursed from your account for qualified child or elder care expenses.
  • After one year of employment

 

  • Group Insurance Premiums - Lets you use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible payroll deducted insurance premiums
  • First of the month after 60 days of employment


Life Insurance

  • ABS provides life insurance at no cost for eligible employees and qualified family members as a measure of financial protection for families. 
  • Eligible employees have the opportunity to enroll in a supplemental life insurance program that provides additional coverage for a low monthly cost
  • The first of the month after 60 days of employment


Long-term Disability Insurance

  • ABS provides LTD insurance at no cost for eligible employees that provides employee coverage of 60% of eligible compensation for qualified events
  • The first of the month after 60 days of employment


401(k) Savings Plan

  • Employee Contributions - allow employees to contribute on an after-tax basis through bi-weekly payroll deduction
  • First of the month following one year of employment

 

  • Employer Contributions – ABS makes a annual contribution to the employees account based on a pre-determined formula as set-out in the SPD.  This amount currently averages 4% of the employees Gross Annual Salary
  • Either January 1st or July 1st after completing one year of service

 

  • Employer Matching Contributions – ABS matches dollar-for-dollar on the first 2% contributed by the employee into the plan as set-out in the SPD.
  • First of the month following one year of employment.


Holidays

  • ABS employees have seven paid holidays each year
  • Upon Hire


Vacation

  • Eligibility is based on years of service
  • After 1 year of service:  10 days
  • After 7 years of service:  15 days
  • After 16 years of service:  1 extra day per year up to a total of 20 vacation days

 

  • After one year of service


Sick Leave

  • 6 days per year
  • Upon Hire

  • Drivers receive all benefits listed above, plus those listed in this area
  • All our drivers are home every weekend
  • Drivers are assigned a primary vehicle with no slip-seating
  • Drivers are allowed to take assigned vehicle home
